Infinite nagging

I guess I am beginning to see and feel the real working world now.

Hey peeps out there, if you think ya knowledge and ya degree is what will bring you through life, especially working life. You will be in for a shock.

That piece of paper that you have is only good enough for ya personal file in that confidential drawer. And after you are employed, they will only be reviewed under 2 circumstances. One is when ya boss thinks you are a goner... and he wants to look at ya P file to check if he has missed out some big ass sign that states that hiring you was a mistake and he would like to confirm that he really did made a mistake. The other circumstance when he actually refer to your degree will be only when you are going to change ya jobscope. Basically, if he wants to promote you or give you bonus, that piece of paper is history and nobody will look at it.

Skills are the most important tools to success. Knowledge is important but i feel that if you already have learnt how to learn, everything can be learnt on the job. And what brings you through work, in succeeding at the end of the day are your skills. Ya ability to communicate with your boss, whether or not you can deliver is one thing, but if you cant even convince your boss that you are good, you are basically half way gone.

If you are just good at talking and not being able to deliver, it wont take ya boss more than 2 days to realise that. Believe me, you wouldnt want to be in his "MUST CHECK ON" list. If he has to come to you more than you go to him. Be prepared to get screwed.

You must be very flexible. Regardless of the situation, the problem, or even the people, you must be able to solve things which he thinks you are capable of solving. And being flexible also means you must have the ability to think macro when talking to your boss and think micro when talking to ya colleagues. If you cant get points across or you mix the macro and micro up, ya boss will think you are narrow and you cant go far in life, ya colleague will think that you are talking crap and talking big on theories they do not care or understand. If you can find an optimal point for these two, and settle these two groups of people, you should be safe.

Leadership skills and the ability to be a team player. Basically, i feel that if someone cannot function in a team, that someone will never be able to lead. And if you are a true leader, you can lead from any chair. You do not have to be termed a "manager" or a "supervisor" to display your leadership skills. If you can lead, you can lead from anywhere and you can lead anyone. But if a manager or a supervisor cannot lead, it wont take long for shit to be stirred and ya boss will be there, waiting to screw you cos he probably just got screwed because of ya incapability.

BE a thinker. HAve initiative. BE positive. IF you are always negative about your job, you cant go far and you cant make people think that you are able to be brought far. Try sitting there and waiting for things to happen. I can assure you that one thing that for sure will happen if you do not have initiative will be looming ahead - 1 X screwing session by your boss.

Lastly, sit down and think about marketing yourself well. Simply put: Be the person you think you are and also the person you would like others to think of you as. If you fail to do that, and if people start to think that you are a person whom you totally cannot relate to, you have failed terribly at branding yourself and selling yourself as who you are.

Also, please make sure that you LISTEN with ya ears, not ya head, not with a pre-conceived idea or a perception error of what you THINK you heard, rather, make sure that you HEAR what you HEARD. People tend to interprete things to suit their thinking, rather, sometimes they are just blinded by their own thinking and not listen to others. IF you do not listen to your boss, you will never be happy because you will never be able to make him happy and when ya boss is not happy with you, i do not think that the chances of you being happy is high.

Work hard on working smart. That will do.

BIG O cafe

Me favourite: Smoked salmon and poached egg salad with Toast. The "aphrodisiac" - Heart shaped chocolate cake. New addition: Veal Sausage that Wongso ordered! Yummy! There goes my sunday, Chicken rice @yishun, coerced+forced+threatened by wongso, and i finally agreed when i confirmed that he is treating. HAha.. And was at suntec once again... walking around, helping him get ready for his first job! Congrats to you wongso! And after dinner, we decided to walk into rossi to try! cos the R shop was closed early today for D&D. Haha.. Qin mei!!! They actually price their shirts similar to R. After he gets his shirt, I will let you know how they fare.
Ok... Time to read. I need to start reading again man! I feel so hungry for information. I feel like i have been out of this world for two whole weeks. So busy with work i did not even have time to read the papers and I have no idea what is happening these days.
Oh, before I forget!! Thank you tracy and tracy mummy for the wonderful consultation and supper! Hmm... Sorry to have missed the dinner. Will catch up with you all soon. Let's do a potluck. And play cards. Gossip. Laugh. Haha...

Namaste! @ Asian Civilisation Museum & Boat Quay

I love my Namaste Team! The presentation to the public was a sucess! Memories came on and I was close to tears when I saw the video of the nepal trip once again. Sy! You should have been here! What you really missed out was the goodies in that blue box on the table..the right side of the second picture above. CHAAN HOA bought us pints of Ben and Jerrys. And Im not talking about small pints.. Its that big one... he bought around 18, and as you can see from the picture above, there were less than 18 of us. Even if there were 18 of us, we can never finish all. I had this peanut butter pretzel coated with chocolate flavour. That was awesome!!! And we shared New York fudge, strawberry cheese cake, and this banana something. Woah.. I never knew that I could get sick of eating BJ.
And you know what sy? I went Zouk with Manfred and Adrian. Haha.. They are damn funny!! Think you can bring me and Adrian go party in HK. He will bring us around shen zhen when Im there.
Ooohh.. Sy!! I cant wait to see you and be there!! one month is all i have to wait.
I will post more pics of that night after man sends me the pics.

I need a mega hug.

My soul is so so weary.

Im not sure which is worst, to not have someone to share ya greatest joy, or to not have someone to walk you through ya lowest point.

I am definitely burnt out from work. I need to take a break.

I have been swallowing back the tears time and time again. Trudging on. I am physically, emotionally and spiritually drained.

Im a little lost.

Im beginning to doubt myself.

"I need to talk with you again"

NAMASTE!!

Happy Birthday LiQIN

HAha.. thanks for telling me, " in half and hour's time, it will be my birthday!".

Woah, I didnt know how to react then.

So i decided to dedicate this post to you.

Happy 22nd Birthday!
Stay Chio, Happy and pretty always!

Thanks for the movie marathon! That was an awesome experience totally. I mean i have been to movie marathon, the one with the 3 lord of the rings movie running one after another. It was a pretty painful experience then cos i remembered i left the cinema with fatigue eyes and extremely dry skin. This time round, the experience was so much less painful, in fact, it was enjoyable!

I like all three movies, though A GOOD SHEPHARD was a little profound. And it being the last movie, it also means that we all have less concentration and energy to really watch it. That movie requires quite a bit of brain power. And all the characters seem to enjoy mumbling their lines, I could bearly catch the chinese subtitles in time also. So some parts of the show, I have no idea what is happening. HAha...

My favourite movie yesterday is "WILD HOGS". That is a must watch man! Its funny. And easy to just let it run through the mind.

Little mimsy is a little incredible for certain parts of it but i love "Emma". She is really cute. At least, that movie is pretty engaging.

I enjoyed myself a lot really! It was worth waking up at 730am on a sat morning.

Girl, you have certainly been through I guess, one of the roughest time of ya life.
All the best to ya GUangzhou trip!
My Raoul experience wouldnt be the same without you.
The fact that you are also part of the SMU family also add on to the endless topics that we have.

Jiayou girl!!

Hope to see you in HK!!

Working hard and playing harder

The definition of working hard and playing harder was never clearer to me than now. I am so extremely tired, emotionally and physically drained, challenged and stretched. Yet I make sure that I still get my sushi dinners, my clubbing sessions and my chill out kakis to help me through this intense period. Not forgetting the gym and swimming to keep my body alive...

Certainly I will be going to China again. Just a matter of exactly when and perhaps I might get to stay in Shanghai for a day or two. That will be the motivation that pulls me through all the hardwork. People dun pay you to fly for free. I see the intense amt of hardwork and brain power plus physical strain ahead. I already am going through them. I just hope that the weekend comes faster. I need sleep. I am so damn scared that I will start to age terribly if these goes on for a prolonged period. Actually, I guess this will not end, and will be equally intense when i move on to finance.

There is a lot of action goin on. This is the best time to be learning everything. Right now, the learning curve is steep, though not so much of the technical knowledge, it is the skills here that is pretty important too. When you have to report to 3 bosses with 3 different objectives, and at the same time clearing up mess, its a great test of ya tolerance for stress, for being questioned, and for working efficiently and the most importantly, your communication skills. I am thankful for the opportunity and the exposure. Seriously I dun think i can be doing what I am doing now should I be anywhere else. At the end of the day, the little praises and the fact that I know that you still believe in me and are giving me opportunities are enough to keep me going. The exposure is immense here.

I am happy to be here. It is a tough journey. It is similar to doing all the intense projects in smu, I was equally worn out then. But for now, the difference is that you dun dictate your project. So you have to do what is right, and at the same time, convince people that it is right. And you cant go ahead until there is formal approval. Sometimes it is not the outcome that kills, it is the constant ding donging...

If you can manage people in the company well, your management skills would be able to put you through a lot of things, including your business. Of course, that is on the basis that your business model is not fundamentally flawed.

I need to sleep.

Working hard. PLaying harder.

Where are you?

When I am down, I really yearn for a very tight hug. A very warm and tight one. Someone to hold me and tell me that everything will be ok. That someone will wipe away my tears for me. OR that my tears will just seep into that someone's clothes, I dun have to wipe it away myself.

Even if I dun hear words of comfort, a very tight hug is enough.

Even if I dun have a tight hug, a simple "how are you" will make me feel touched.

When you are really down, and that someone is there for you, will you be there, the same way for that someone when that someone is down?

When you needed someone and that someone was there,
Where are you when the someone needs you?

Crying is a form of relief and when im really down, I would prefer crying it all out.
But I cant handle the situation, when i know that im not feeling too good, yet Im not crying or that something is bottled up, I cant let it go.

I worked really hard. I have to fight it out. I have to face it all. It is good training. But I guess I have reached my limit for this time. I will address it, and move on. Im not giving up.

Moving on....

Botak Jones

Hey Hey... I finally went to try out the botak jones american food near my place.

Waited for quite a while for the food. I ordered Fish and Chips and wongso had cajun chix. Im not very sure what this place is famous for. The food looks good, the queue is amazingly long, the stuff were energetic and polite, they have a pretty good operations system running.

I guess I was so hungry, by the time the food came, I began to gobble them. After about 10 min.. I felt like stopping le. Its not the food, its just that perhaps we tried out too many sauces. Or that im eating too fast. Or that I dun really like the pepper mayo that they serve with fish and chips. I still prefer F&C with the good old tar tar. The fries were nice and spiced up with their chilli powder. It was just different from what I had expected. Hmm.. maybe cos everyone was like telling me it was good, and that perhaps i was eating a little too fast, I didnt really enjoy it. I had to giveaway my some of my food to wongso, who is definitely, very happy to receive them. Hmm... and i guess when it comes to fries... Im sure sy agrees with me, nothing beats the fries we had in Kathmandu, nepal. I really love the fries and the amazingly different kinds of sauces that they sell.

I miss the cold in nepal too. Its just way too hot in sg. Either that or the sky rewards you with tons of water. SIgh.. when can we ever have good weather?

Well.. actually I have got work to complete. Due tom. No choice. By hook or by crook I have to get it out.

Im able to start tennis soon!! Since someone is finally available and so we can go use the court for free!! Gym, swim, tennis. NEed to work out. Otherwise the stress and fats will accumulate till i expire on the shelf. Later nobody wants me how?? Im scared le!

Haha.. although I too have a set of stringent criteria when it comes to lifepartner... HAHA.. but i must make sure that I am eligible to hold and demand that set of criteria from someone else mah. Unless that Love at first sight thingy.. or some big time love electricity from someone totally not on my list but have the ability to make me recreate a list that has all his character comes into my life... haha... I think I will still hold on to my rationality and senses.

Work lor work lor workaholic.

Dinner in the office -Started already...

Yes. Its been just a week since I started work in this department and I have have been staying back till late for at least 4 days already. I never leave on the dot anymore. When I know i will stay till late, I will make sure I go pack some food cos I dun wanna end up having gastric or end up eating too late.

Woah.. I was working till like 8 plus almost nine and my colleagues suggest that we go chill out at this pub near my work place. You all know lah.. my workplace there is famous for its night life. Inevitably, there are a lot of transverstites around. But the pub that we went was pretty decent. Cant believe how much and how fast we drank... HAHA.. all because of the game. Its was pretty fun! I was just too tired la.

Ha... as the pub was pretty empty, we had it all to ourselves. We began to dance around after a while and woah... after Jx and M went to the bar top to dance and i was running away cos they were dragging me, JO just carried me and put me on to the bar top. HAHAHA.. I was laughing non stop after that on the bar top. Cos I guess i was already a bit tipsy. But the way he carried me was pretty skilled. He just lifted me off the ground, as in like I dun feel the pain or anything. You know how sometimes during those team building thingy and you get carried for some reason, and somehow the guys just dun carry you properly, they leave bruises on ya arms etc... HAHa.. So yest, It was a skilful one, I felt Like I was flying... It's been a long long while since someone actually lifted me up.

And after I went home and was about to sleep, I received this sms from HK. OH my GOD... HAHA.. SY msged me. Told me she was tipsy, a bit drunk and she just felt like msging me. That was seriously the first time I hear about SY drinking so much. HAha... ANd the funniest thing is I think we were both drunk but at different parts of the world. I had a really good laugh over this.

Im very very sleepy. Its been a long day and will be a long long long long month and months ahead.

JIa you Shi!

A swim at last

Yes.

With much perserverance, I decided that I should just pack up and honor my word to go take a dip in the pool and loosen my extremely tensed up muscles. I can never finish my work. At least, not today.

Woah... swimming is good for the body, but bad for the skin and hair. The skin on my nose started peeling right after. Should have brought my moisturiser along. Even my lips are like extremely dry now. Will have to do a face mask tonight. Its been a while since I last pamper my face to a mask. I guess I have no other choice.

Sigh.. I couldnt make it to Bishan in time to go collect my clenser and sunblock. Tom I think I might have to work late. Cos I dun think I can finish 3 policies in one day. But I also need to gym tom. And I need to rush to bishan again. SOb SOb... ANyone out there willing to help me??

Im dead beat. Tired. Tired. Have got to keep up the exercising. YAWNz...

OK. One dvd. Lights out at midnight. Need to keep to this routine.
Think I may get a biz trip soon. Not firm yet. Will see how. Then I will be travelling twice next month! Haha.. excited.

my ICS dream

I have a dream...
A song to sing...

Im motivated by my dream. Its a dream cos I cant achieve it immediately. I need at least 4 years from now. It's very important to me. It doesnt matter if at the end of the day Im going to be who I see myself to be. What is important is that I see and I hold that dream now. The dream will bring me through the obstacles, will lead me through the darkness and with this dream, I now have the patience to wait. Cos I know, I will get there eventually. I just need to wait. I cant fool time. And besides, I need the experience here to really be a successful SB at the end of the day.

Im stretching myself everyday. The intensity reminds me of school once again. Though I have already graduated last term, it seems that I cant have a lobo life since all of you are having all ya exams now too. All those graduating with me. I think i dun make sense here. Haha.. pardon me.

Im physically worn out. Mentally Im awake but I guess my body is not able to cope with the adrenalin surge. No matter how much I wanna continue doing, I cant fool my physical limits. Gotta gym tom. No joke. At this rate that Im going, Im sure to age, and look like a prune with very ugly figure too... I need to work out. If it doesnt rain on thur, if I can, I will try to go swim.

I have been eating quite a lot already le. But sigh... I still seem to have lost some weight. Sy says that too. I think the corsitol level is high leh. That should account for my higher metabolic rate and higher rate of digestion.

oohhh...

mc JUST talk to me online.
Woah.. I am indeed happie. REally happy.
I thought im left on my own. So actually not. He cares. So im not left out. That few words are enough to spur me on. I guess he is not being informed of the issues properly. At least it seems so. No more hearing from other people. I shall sort it out and then go to him direct.

I always talk about my ICS dream. Actually that is sort of like a back up. HAha... The other favourable outcome would be my stay here. That's a bit tricky for now. But so far, So good. I am extremely motivated by these two dreams. They are opportunities hard to come by. I am PLAIN LUCKY to be where I am now and be doing the things I do now. Seriously, I wasnt employed because of my grades cos till now, my boss doesnt even know my GPA.

Im lucky to be in this industry. Seriously, there is NO WAY in which i would have been able to join this industry, not this way. I wouldnt even have possibly applied too. It's all been like pre-plan. Mummy's insistance on me not going for my Guangzhou internship last year seem like one of the best choice ever. I remembered how she insisted too, that I go draw a lot from the temple on whether I should go for the GZ internship cos GZ was struck by typhoon at that time. And apparently the lot stated very clearly that I shouldnt go. I cried. I remember standing at bugis mrt, and when I saw wm, I cried cos I couldnt go to GZ. I remembered the lot saying that the GZ trip looks good from here but isnt the case over there. Something like that. And because I rejected that offer, I eventually landed in this company. And tada... Yours truly is in the shipping industry now. I am beginning to fall in love with this industry. Seriously in love.

Cy called me yesterday. Told me he needed a barge. Haha... I felt a little bit like a ship broker. The only difference is that I have no contacts of available work barge and tug boats for him. But that was a really fun conversation. Draft, charter rate, tonnage, Haha... And I went to ask captain today. But we only have accomodation barge at this point in time. Captain was so nice!! HE said that he will bring me on board to take a look the next time the barge docks in SG. HAHA... Although all these chartering matters is not the primary business of my company, but Im really interested in it. At least we do have some dealings here. I wanna be able to read the charter party well. I wanna be able to do what a broker does. In all aspect. And Im going to learn. No way am I going to be an engineer. Neither am I going to be a captain. So the only way for me to learn enough industrial knowledge is through ICS. This is very important. In this industry, you will make it far only if you have both the commercial skills and technical knowledge. I guess it is the same for every industry.

I know very well that having a degree is not enough. Not enough at all. Theories and practical skills are equally important. Transferrable skills are important too. Learn. Keep learning. Non stop.

I better go wash up cos its really late. I cant stop blabbering cos I guess my brain needs to unwind a bit.

Conversation(s) with Other Women.

Sy and I were totally elated when the total bill for our movie tics came up to only $11.30. Cathay generally charges a lower fee for the tics and with the UOB promotion... we got an additional 12% off.
We (well more of me) decided that we should go for this movie: Conversation(s) with Other Women.
The film split into two frames. Honestly, I thought it was just some film gimmick and that perhaps this would only last for 10 min max. I was pretty irritated by the 2 frames thingy at first. After a while, I guess the humorous, witty and simply candid conversations between Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter made the split something that's just a matter of getting used to. I like the film. Its pretty unique. I wouldnt say the plot is extremely fantastic, but I think the way the lines were delivered, and the way the story was brought out was something fresh.
If only the story could be developed further, it would have been a good 4 star show. I would just give it 3 stars. Hmm.. Well... Had I paid $9.50 for it, I would certainly be dissatisfied.
But hey.. Aaron Eckhart looks really hot and sexy in the film. Well, for a man of his age... I would say he has this masculine charisma that makes him attractive. And still, at this age, he looks really charming. Maybe Im beginning to like old man.. HAHA....Oops!
Sy... See ya in Hong kong in May!!
All the best for ya job search.
Although you said that you didnt really see many (or was it any) cute guys in Hongkong, And that there are more in Taiwan... I will go over and see for myself! AHHA..
Cant wait to meet you and Darryl there once again.
Hopefully Li Qin can join us there.
Well well... Life is hectic for me these days. The real test of me juggling my work and my health is here. Not just my health, my life too. There is overwhelming amt of work to do. Tons of things to be done. And mostly from scratch.
I hardly get the time to check my smu mail today. I got some miss calls on my hp and some smses that I didnt manage to reply. I have msges on msn that was left alone for a while... Evidence of my workload increase.
But Im lovin' IT!

I want the phantom mask!

I was giggling the moment i realised that the seats we got.. were once again..restricted. I didnt really quite know about where and what kind of seats we got cos we bought the tickets from tracy's friend. Remember the wonderful experience I spoke about when we watched "A touch of Zen"?? HAha.. But certainly our seats are better than that cos we were on Circle 2 last night instead of circle three. I think we have now become experts in restricted seats. So the next time we wanna get cheap tickets, we know which are the good restricted seats and which are the ones you shouldnt even bother.

Well, I guess i have just completed my Phantom adventure, one that started in 1999. HAha.. so from 1999 to 2007, I bought the CD to listen to the songs and fell in love with them. After that I went to the library and I finished the phantom novel. In around 2002 or so, cant remember the exact year, I caught the phantom movie. Tada... on the 7th April, 2007, I finally caught the opera on stage.

I think the costumes and props are really pretty and intricately designed. I love the european style lacy dresses, with corset tops and very nice sleeves, sashes and fabric. I feel like getting myself one of these but haha.. there is no occasion to wear them.

I cant wait to catch an opera in one of those big opera houses in London! There are a lot of things that are on my "MUST-DO-THIS-LIFETIME" List and certainly this is one of them.

So much so for my phantom fantasy.

Back to work.

I have to start from scratch and build my HR knowledge so that I can get the projects going. As a HR personel, according to S, we have to be impartial, we are side neither the employees nor the employer. I guess it is all about bringing the two sides together and at the end of the day, certainly we will be at least one side closer to the company than the employees no matter how impartial we would like to be simply because the HR department is part of the company and is not a seperate entity on its own. Put simply: You have a boss to report to and that boss, happens to represent the company. There you go.

Make or break I said.

Make or break it is.

Make.

I see the real challenge here. Bridging the cultural divide. And we are looking at 3 different cultures. A test of real leadership. Managing the human capital. Where you need not just ya head, but ya heart too.

Happy Easter!

Alrighty, me going back to school to seek help from the available collection in the library.

I am, afterall, still a STUDENT! And I love this kind of learning... Cos im PAid to LEARN. Haha.

Great Supper

Nice!!

SO happie to see SY again in SINGAPORE!!

HAha... we met up at J8 and after we said HI, she was talking to my mum and all more than me!! I had to walk around to look at clothes etc to keep myself occupied.

So strange... I think it is all pre-arranged!! Dun you think so SY?? YOu see, the sambal sting ray was finished, the kang kong was also finished, even the pearls from the bubble tea was finished! HAha... If not for the fact that all these were finished, I would be too full to have supper with Darryl le!! And its such a coincident that while we were musing over our lives and trying to catch up with each other's lives for the past two months, Darryl asked me if I have any books to lend him to bring over to HK. That was when we decided that we should all go for supper!!

Haha... and cos SY was here sitting in my room, and I finally had someone to discuss the airline and the date of return from HK. I FINALLY got down to purchasing my return ticket.

The prata was GOOD! I never had a proper dinner cos I knew that I would be eating and eating with the dear girl who needs to satiate her cravings for SG food.

OH!! And I was featured on TV for a while... HAHAHAHAH.. YES I WAS!!! For about say, 2 seconds!. AHahah.... and SY, you were there to enjoy that moment with me!

Back to the supper, wongso decided not to join us cos he has a presentation tom morning @ 9am. I am going for the presentation cos i have questions to ask the mentors and also to properly talk to the 3 of them for one last time.

It is like 230 am now but i really need to blog. I havent been blogging for sometime and I do have a lot to say. Tom is going to be a long long day for me, Im going back to school early in the morning, and after that I need to get back to the office for Video conferencing. After that, I think i should just stay on to do some work b4 going to watch the phantom cos mr wongso would be mugging in school anyway and unless I come home to nap, I would be roaming the streets and I dun think i have the energy to do so.

Back to the supper.. HAhah.. I have so much to say that I keep digressing. Alright, so the 3 of us finally sat down to discuss our HK trip. I will pray for you darryl on ya accomodation!! Cos that will affect MY accomodation. HAha... Im so looking forward to all of us travelling together and having fun exploring HK, MACAU and SZ together. And Sy is saving Lantau island and ZHU HAI for me. I want to go to Ocean PArk, but im not sure if Disney is worth going. I remember studying about Disney in my services marketing class. Certainly the one in the USA and JAPan is worth going. Disney in paris had some problem. And from the looks of it, I dun think that Disney HK is doing as well as its pioneers. Anyhow, Im extremely excited about my trip there. Everything is pretty much arranged except my hotel in MAcau. I havent decided on one. I hope Darryl can come and meet me on that night cos i dun wanna have dinner alone in macau! Most importantly, you know what to eat and where is nice! But Poor darryl, you might have to run back to HK EARLY in the morning so that you will not be late for work!

With regards to my work.. I have officially started my 2nd rotation in the HR department. Lots of work to do but I am extremely motivated here. Its going to be tough, but i guess it is also the one department where I can handle more stuff and initiate things. The learning curve is very steep once again, it is a very different curve from the procurement one.

I enjoy doing what I am doing now.

I am HAPPY for sure.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going...

Shipping

Oh..

The end of my 3 months jolly in this department.

In a span of 3 months, my understanding of this industry has deepened and widened tremendously.

The no. 1 person i need to thank is Prof A. Koh. If not for her, i would still be stagnant at that beginning level. She gave me the precious opportunity to go for the class that opened me up to the industry. Not just to the world of newbuilding. I mean the whole industry. The information, motivation and exposure are important to me. The aquaintance with the 3 industry players is a blessing too. Though im not very close to them, but their words are sources of motivation for me. They provided me with words of encouragement and wisdom. Professional help, i would say.

And Im very happy that after attending the 2nd industry exhibition, im better able to appreciate the way to get information from the different booths. And we had a fun time yesterday cos we, as in me with my 3 other female colleagues, like 4 ladies altogether were walking around the booths. This is a male dominated industry, so you can imagine that 90% of the exhibitors are male. Haha.. yes we got a lot of attention, and a lot of freebies too. And im glad to be walking around with them - one procurement exec and one estimator plus another new comer who, like the estimator, has engineering background. So, my PE is good with the industry, she knows the vendors and the other two with engine background are good to help me clear my technical queries.

Im not sure how things would be.

Im giving myself 4 years here i think. And during these 4 years, I would like to go pursue my ICS.
