Happy CNY to all

Hi Nette, Belle and Shiying...

Happy Chinese new year too...

Today is Da Nian Chu Yi... I went to the temple this morning to pray. Called mummy to "Bai nian".... i thought i was the last but i turned out to be the first. My sis and bro were still on the way home when i called.

I went shopping with my roommate after lunch near the temple. Nothing interesting... but we still enjoyed each other's company. I came back to my apartment to watch VCD and after that left to watch Memoirs of a Geisha with my thai friend. It was a really long movie.. Well... i will give it like 3 stars out of 5. Nothing exceptionally exciting or impressive about this movie... yet it isnt as bad as you think. I dunno what im talking about... Basically i suspect that reading the book may be more exciting.

Oh... i posted the sad poem below in my other personal blog on 20th dec b4 i came. Since this is like new year i decided to do a bit of reflection. Its amazing how i feel eventually that i am able to walk away and stop crying... I dunno... I just feel better... so much better. I can finally breathe... I will go find a poem which reflects how i feel now... And i will post it up soon.

Anyway... I have one interesting thing to add about watching movies in Thailand... That is b4 the show start, they will play the national anthem. Everyone has to stand till the song finishes... in the mean time the screen will show some national photos and photos of the king. Cool isnt it? I was kind of shock when everyone stood up. Then i stoned for a while cos not my king. I remembered how foreigners in school dun take the pledge last time... so i thought maybe i dun have to stand.. HAha.. then my thai friend asked me to... then yeah... i should... anyway... he is to be respected no matter what... yeah... so i stood up and watched the whole slideshow. Interesting yeah?

Anyway belle and shiying... if you have any leftover new year goodies which has yet to expire, please feel free to air mail over.. haha... I almost forgot that love letters were part of the team until nette mentioned it while i was chatting with her... haha... Make sure it is not mouldy hor...

Im tired... Gotta go sleep... see ya babes!!!

Shishi

Back then...

Better Tomorrow by Amy M. Jones

She can feel the pain
and also the sorrow.
She doesn't want to go on.
So she prays for a better tomorrow.

It's hard for her to cope.
She'd like to runaway.
In her heart she knows
that she can't stay.

You can see the sadness
deep within her eyes.
She would like to stop the madness,
but instead, she just cries.

She prays for strength to move ahead.
To survive another day.
She pleads for the courage to be brave
so she can simply walk away.

vacation...

I dunno how to put my thoughts into words right now. I have been thinking lots lately. This flu bug has given me a big time out from things. Anyway... I treasure whatever i do and whatever i have right now. Lots of things turn out to be different from what i expected. I think i shouldnt rush into things. I should give up some of my dreams for now. I am sure that i will be able to fulfill them one day, not at the expense of anyone. Maybe in that way, i know for sure, that my dream has finally come true. I will hold on to them still. Real tightly. And i will never let go.

Im going to graduate in dec... that is like less than a year from now. What will i be doing then? Finance and marketing majors... where do i exactly belong? Why isnt there a major on like food? I havent really found my anchor point for now. Also, after going for this career talk in Chula, i begin to think about further studies after my degree. Maybe i should go get a masters. Im not sure if i will want an MBA. Cos i think i should go into something more specialised. How time flies yeah... Almost all my life i have wanted to be a doctor. Three years ago i was forced to take a different path. I know this is the second best alternative that i have right now. I am not regretting anything. SMU opened me up to the world, to myself and I am really grateful for all the training, teachings, experiences and the life and people i meet in this uni. I have this inkling in me to get back to sciences again though... Maybe i will consider a psycology masters. I think i have to really look into all the options that is open at this point of time. Also, i think i need to go open up more.

Im feeling kind of emotional now cos im watching this really simple but touching movie on HBO. I really dare say at this point of time that i am totally recharged. Everything happened for a reason. And i know that this flu bug wants me to pay more attention to my body and i will. Next week when im well, im going to hit the pool and the gym at this apartment. Mummy is paying so much for this and i shall make the full use of the facilities as long as i am here.

Im going to study and gain as much as i can from the professors here. I will play as much as my body and soul can take and nothing more. I will not let mummy worry about me cos i think that all these while, my love for her has always surpassed what i have for myself... even if it means i cant really travel to many places..

Chinese New year is around the corner... it really makes me home sick... missing everyone in the family. Just last year, i was thinking... why is it that I am no longer looking forward to CNY. I remembered how when we were young, my siblings and I were always so excited about CNY. IT just gets less exciting each year. Right now, im beginning to appreciate it a lot more and in a different light. I miss the majjong sessions with my mum and sis... oh... i hope jeff is kind enough to share with me a few pieces of the Lim Chee Guan BAh kwa that he brought all the way from Singapore.

Skippy peanut butter... skippy is the one...

This is the beef bowl that JY had.. it cost 110 bt... that is like $5... yoshinoya price wo....
Posted by Picasa

I had this exact same set meal from Fuji Japanese Restaurant on my birthday. This is the most worth it set meal... this is just 180bt... which is $7? Yeah around there. I have never really liked Tuna sashimi and tada... I think im kind of hooked on it now.. on the bottom right, 2 tuna, 2 salmon... There is salmon teriyaki, egg, chicken, lots and lots... as you can see form the above. There is miso soup, fruits and tea included in this set... ITs expensive compared to food i can get here but it is definitely worth it!!!
Posted by Picasa

Finally yeah?

Nette nette!!! haha... I thought i would have to chang the name of our blog soon if you still dun post. AHah... ANyway, belle was mad at me for not informing her about our blog. HAha... I have just invited her and Shiying to join in this blog so that they can share with us and keep us updated on the juciest gossips and happenings in school while we are away.

Nette... are you going back home for CNY? I think my mum wants me back cos she called me a few times to ask me if i wanna go back. But i said that it wont be worth the airfare so i would rather not. ITs going to be like close to $300 for that few days. Anyway my family had an earlier reunion dinner b4 i left. But i really miss the reunion cooking by my mum... I heard from my mum that nelle has now put on weight... (like me) and she has yet again... grown taller... I miss her so so much!!!

If you are gonna stay in HK im sure your CNY will be awesome and you get to enjoy the whole atmosphere and all... Gosh... I need to plan something with my korean roommate cos they do celebrate CNY too!! HAha.. and apparently in korea their reunion dinner is on the first day of the lunar calendar( CHU YI). My Thai buddy, June, told me that since her parents will have lots of chicken for praying, that means she will have more than one week supply of chicken to eat ...till she gets sick of it.

My flu is not recovering... at least, i dun feel like it is... GOsh... I hope that i dun have to go back to the doc again!! but Im coughing a lot and my voice is husky... I cant sing in the bathroom anymore!!!

NOw i only have class on wed, thur and fri morning... This is too lax!!! But this is like the last time that i can enjoy my life... not be so stress like i did back home and not having to work part time too.

Anyway... take care nette... hope to see you soon.

I think im still short of three of his books to complete the collection. This book has quotes and then some writings on the quotes. Something different from the rest of the books that PC writes. I love his books. Go start on one if you havent read his work.
