I LOVE NANCY
She came at 1030am to evergreen to pick us up. She drove us to chinatown for breakfast. We had this chicken noodles in this thick gravy. Its one of the best i had so far. That sorts of satisfied the cravings i have for my spore food. According to Nancy, that shop has been selling this chicken noodles for 3 generations already...
Later on, it she drove us to Yao Wat Rao which is also part of chinatown to shop. Her family runs a shop there and they are into the wholesale business for the accessories made of crystal beads. Apparently they also own a few shops around the same area and they were rented out. Yeah.. ahhah.. Cos we were in her territory, we get to buy earrings for 10bt from other shops.
There were mainly wholesalers there. So the things are relatively cheap and im glad nancy wanted things which i sort of fancied too. HAha.. cos most of the items like these photo albums can only be bought at wholesale price if you buy at least 3 pieces and above.
After about 2 hours, we decided to take the chao praya river express boat to this place... erm... Oh, i cannot remember. But its like a short boat trip and it costs only as much as a public bus, 9bt. We reached this place that was a little like chatuchat but in a more orderly manner with more air and the things there are really cheap. The things here are selling at the prices of those things on the streets of bangkok's city area.
The SUN was irritatingly hot. I really could feel the effect of the summer sun in bangkok. It makes me really really drowsy. Very very hot. So hot i dunno how to describe. And the bad news is, the temperature will just keep on increasing. Yesterday the temperature was 35 deg... today was just as hot.
Nancy's brother came after about 2 hours later to pick us up. That was really really nice cos its so hot... and i never appreciated aircon more in my life than these few days. YEs, he sent us back to evergreen.
Nancy was so so so so nice the whole time. She planned this trip for us, chauffered us around and she even went to look up this travel guide on chinatown plus ask around her friends and family to make sure we had fun there. And she is really one of the best shopping kaki ever. And of course, eating kaki too...
I LOVE NANCY
Ok... here is one dark story of this city that nancy say i should share with people.
On valentines' day this way, Nancy's friend was at Dunkin Donuts at Siam square. While waiting for her bf, she ordered a drink. Well, her drink was doped and apparently her bf also felt kind of drowsy after drinking some of her drink. Her friend claimed that she was still consious and all and she is aware of what is happening around her but she has sort of lost the ability to analyse things and all... like if anyone were to approach her and get her to do something, she wouldnt have the ability to reject and all... she would just go ahead. She was lucky, her bf came... and that he wasnt late or too late... He felt the effect of the drink too but he was still able to drive himself and his gf home. This girl's sister found it wierd cos she saw both of them came back and they just went to sleep. AHha... what a valentines' day.
But anyway... its never safe to be alone. things like that happens. Its beyond ya imagination. like even the people behind the counter are capable of doing such things...
Nancy's brother has been robbed while he was on a public bus too. The guy just pointed a knife to his body, well... he had to give him all he had. Now i sort of understand why most of my classmates drive to school. YEs, one thing of course is they are wealthy. But another more important reason is for safety.
Bangkok is, afterall, a large city. City stories...
