Below is the entry which i typed yesterday as you can see in one of the pics that i posted.
Now Im sitting alone at the restaurant, waiting for JY to take a shower. Well, i sort of "dry cleaned" myself and im feeling fresh and i wont say happy, rather, i feel different now. Different as in it is an indescribible feeling, something that is unique and of which i havent really experienced in a long time.
(Background music: Every sha la la la..... Every single ling - a ling..... Its yesterday once more....) That is the song that the restaurant is playing now. Let me first do a recount of what happened thus far. Here it goes... okJy and i shared a cab to Ekkamai Southern bus terminal so that we can catch a bus to go Pattaya. There were 2 kinds of buses... 91bt and 113bt. AHha.. Us being us, chose the cheaper one. Well, i dun really care about the fact that i may be getting a lousier quality bus until after about 30 min later, when i was on the bus and the bus was about to leave, i began to feel the orange juice I had that morning in my bladder. Im not sure about this 113bt bus, but the 91bt bus took a really long time to start moving without stopping. The bus stopped by so many stops and well, i had to ENDURE a full bladder all the way from bkk to pattaya . How bad was it? Well, I began to have images of NKF patients in my head, i could barely sit straight and i really really was hoping that my system is not damaged by this holding back that i had to do.
When we finally reached pattaya.. woah.. it didnt help that i need to walk another 10 min and even climb an overhead bridge just so that i can find a decent toilet. Not that i am picky or what, the shops neaby doesnt look like they have any toilets to offer. So I went to the BIC C supermart and we had our lunch from KFC there. Well, we went to BIg C to get tissue and haha.. we found them selling the EXACT same TRIUMPH Bikini sets they sold in bangkok for less than half the original price. A Set of Triumph bikini costs 599bt after discount. That is about $25. Of course, we bought one set each.
After that we headed for the pattaya pier to catch the ferry that will bring us to Koh Larn, one of the largest coral island near pattaya. The ferry only costs 20bt, which is $0.80. We were early and had to wait for about 30min b4 the ferry departed. Well, 30 min on the ferry while it is docked at the pier kind of left us dizzy. By the time we reached Koh Larn, it was close to 6pm le. Our number 1 goal was to settle accomodation and everything else should fall in place after that. It took us close to 45 min to finally reach the beach. Well, haah, i first refused to take the motorbike taxi's offer to drive us to the beach cos i have a feeling the beach was just nearby and that i dun really think it is safe to hop on to their bikes. We had no map, no nothing cos this is not KOH SAMUI, this is koh larn, a less "touristy" place. ANyway, so we began trekking around the island. One road sign of the beach is about 20min walk from the other. We sort of regretted not taking the motor bike when we realised tht we had to climb this extremely steep slope and there was still quite a bit to walk. Just as we were panting like there is no tommorrow, we were harrassed by 2 motorcycle taxi drivers. They kept offering free rides and kept telling us that the guesthouse by the beach we were heading was already full and that they wanted to bring us to this other place with accomodation. Woah.. I mean there was only JY and Me. DO I LOOK LIKE I WILL BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAID AND THAT I WILL go SEPERATE WAYS WITH JY BY HOPING INTO YA BIKE??? And then he told us he was island police. AHah.. if he didnt tell me he was police maybe i would have trusted him more. but too bad... i never had much confidence in this kind of positions here. They were so irritating they followed us all the way till we reached the beach. Sometimes they purposely drive so close i was wouldnt give up. The "F" word was already at my throat waiting to burst out le... And I was scared ok... I mean they could have each just grabbed one of us and that's it... END OF STORY... But they didnt la... And well, we finally reached the beach. They were still there lor... damn irritating. Then we approached this couple and asked them about accomodation and all... apparently they were from NOrthern Thailand and they were also there on holidays and they werent sure of things. SO, they began to help us ask. WOAH... GUESS WHO WERE THERE? The two motorcyclists.... I almost fainted.. im like huh... you ask him again, he sure say no accomodation... pengz... Then the lady actually told me its safe to follow him and all and she even gave me her hp number and said if there is anything wrong after tat i can call her. Then i replied, WHAT IF I DUN EVEN REACH THE SO CALLED ACCOMODATION? HAha.. I was damn stubborn at this point of time cos i know if i follow them, Jy and I definitely have to be on 2 different bikes... how can? Somemore we were new to the island and it was getting dark. Finally, the lady helped us talk to the restaurant owner by the beach.. AHAH.. they had tents to offer.... and that was how the 300bt tent story began. The accomodation that the two motorcyclists wanted to bring us cost 1200bt per night and that place was just beside the pier. That means if we had wanted to stay there, we wouldnt have walked 45 min... in search for cheaper accomodation. Anyway, the two motocyclists who are also island taxi drivers gave up. AHah.... Back to tent... TENT le... haha... so old school style. This is seriously the most memorable APRIL FOOL DAY i had in my life. And haha.. this is really extremely impromptu. I mean i dun think i will continue to do this kind of advanturous things a few years down the road. STay in tents? haha... NO map no idea and just go travelling. Out of comfort zone, close to nature, bare to self.
Anyway, now the ambience here is really really romantic... I feel like im in the arms of nature, i feel really liberated and safe. AWay from problems, away from worries... Its this moment of indulgence that counts. Its this moment of happiness that counts. This moment, Priceless.
(end of entry)
Anyway the sequence of events that happened after taht was as of the pictures above. But i wanna talk about this experience. After enjoying the sea and lunch, Jy and i wanted to catch the 12pm ferry back to pattaya. Ahha.. we knew it would be insane to walk that 45 min again with mr sun so brightly greeting us. So no choice, we took motorbike taxi. AHAH... the most hilarious thing was that one of the "police" was at the same place when Jy and I each got onto the bike that will bring us to the pier. AHAH.. he muttered something which we didnt understand but haha.. he must be wondering what on earth is wrong with him that we refused to take his bike. AHah...
The motorbike ride was AWESOME. This is my first ride on motorbike. The first time i sat on a motorbike was on my bro's scramble many years ago. Well, my legs couldnt even touch the gound after i sat on it. And well, i sat on it to take picture only, my mum wouldnt allow him to take me on rides. HAha... at first he ask me to put my hands on his shoulders so tat i can at least keep my balance at the back. He was speeding all the way from the beach to the pier. I really really felt like i was in INITIAL D. Maybe i was the tofu, and even thought the driver was really fast, i felt safe. I mean i manage to not think about falling and all, i just held on to him. After a while, i think i was pinching his shoulders already.. haha.. cos we were going up the steep slopes and after that down another steep slopes and he doesnt slow down much, i had no choice but to hold onto his stomach. AHAH...please dun laugh at me, this is my virgin motorbike ride... This is a ride of its kind really. I was on a motorbike, not on the roads like bangkok's street, i was in an island andthe scenary was breathtaking... there were few vehicles around and when he sped.. it was really exhilarating. I finally know and understood the meaning of "DOU FENG". From insisting on not taking to really enjoying it.. haha... silly me.
Anyway, now im badly injured byt he mosquitoes. REAlly itchy... and im also totally worn out. This cos i was really tense when the tw motorcyclist were there.. so i really work out and walked a lot.. my butt and legs are totally in a state of fatigue... tired and my muscles are aching.
I feel renewed. Once again. This is an awesome experience minus the stupid mosquitoes.
